Today I’m here with Kelly Oldenkamp of Texas Premium Inspections to talk to us about the home inspection process and exactly what a home inspector does.

A home inspector goes out on the behalf of a buyer or seller to inspect a home and find defects and safety issues. Kelly started out as a home builder and general contractor and can spot those defects quickly.

How long does the home inspection take? As a general rule of thumb, the inspection itself will take about an hour per 1,000 square feet.

“Kelly’s background in home building helps him spot issues quickly.”

Kelly encourages homebuyers to attend their inspection. You’re able to ask questions, see what the process is, and go through the report with them step-by-step. It’s a detailed report that is very reader-friendly.

If you have questions about home inspections or about how Kelly and his team work, don’t hesitate to give him a call at (972) 251-3014. You can also contact them and schedule an inspection through their website.

If you have any other real estate-related questions for us, don’t hesitate to give us a call or send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you.
